A Christian Prospective on HIV/AIDS

Adullam, one of the royal cities of the Canaanites (Josh. 12:15; 15:35) stood on the old Roman road in the valley of Elah, which was the scene of David's memorable victory over Goliath (1 Sam. 17:2). Called “the glory of Israel”(Micah 1:15), Adullam was one of the towns Rehoboam fortified against Egypt (2 Chr. 11:7).

The Cave of Adullam has been discovered about 2 miles south of the scene of David's triumph, and about 13 miles west from Bethlehem. Nestled amidst numerous caverns some 500 feet high David gathered together "every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented" (1 Sam. 22:2). Some of these caverns are large enough to hold 200 or 300 men.

Much like the spirit of David, Word Of God wants to provide a place of refuge for those impacted by HIV/AIDS within our community. We are dedicated to creating an atmosphere where individuals and families affected by or infected with HIV/AIDS will find love, hope and healing.

In an effort to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS Adullam’s Place will serve the community and church body by providing educational programs, support groups, spiritual counsel, discipleship, and support for those infected with HIV/AIDS.
